Med-Surg Medley:
Date: The date has been changed to October 9 due to unavailability of the First Colony Conference Room.
Vendors: Juanita contacted the Abbott vendor (FreeStyle and Precision glucometers), Jason White, he will help out with whatever we need.
Diabetes speakers: Juanita will contact Lilly to see if they will provide a physician speaker and ask them to also speak for the physicians. Juanita will talk to Sylvia Denton about being the nurse speaker.
Pain management speaker: Suggestion from November was to ask Dr. Waller from the Pain Clinic to speak. Ask Karen to contact.
Canned Food drive: Hold at seminar in October.

2009 Meeting topics:
March: Cindy has confirmed Dr. Stands to speak about the DaVinci robotic surgery.
May: Judy has been unable to find a speaker about humor. The Cathflo rep has offered to speak for any group. Judy will contact them for May.
Health fairs: Juanita receives notices about various health fairs, and will forward the information to the group

New Business:
Collaboration with other groups: The group expressed interested in having a joint meeting with another local organization. A suggestion was the local oncology chapter. Judy will contact them to see if they're interested.

Educational Program: Sharon Kopis, EdD, RN, MS presented information about Evidence Based Practice and the Iowa Model of EBP.
