Individual attendees present at the January meeting gave money to donate to the Red Cross to aid victims of the tsunami in southeast Asia. A total of $157 was collected.

Medical Mission Kits

The Blue Ridge Chapter paid for one nursing kit for nursing students in Jamaica. Members present at the January meeting donated money to purchase an additional kit. These kits are taken to the students by members of the Central Virginia Medical Mission Team on their annual mission trip.

Med-Surg Certification Review

A certification review course for the CMSRN exam was held at Virginia Baptist Hospital on August 22 and 23, 2005. The course was taught by Sally Russell, RN, MS, education director for the A.J. Janetti corporation. The Blue Ridge Chapter sponsored a table with information about the chapter and AMSN membership information.

Food Bank

55 pounds of canned food were collected at the November meeting and donated to the Food Bank.
