Treasurer's Report: Made $1010 on Med-Surg Medley. Paid $150 to Karen for gifts for speakers.

Old Business:

Med-Surg Medley:
Med-Surg Medley: Only 15 people attended. Still have not received payment from one person from Augusta Health Care. The group felt that even though attendance was low this year, the seminar is still our best fund-raiser.

New Business:

Suggestions for Topics: Potential topics for seminar or meetings were discussed. Topics named were lateral accountability, new procedures using DaVinci robot, kidney disease, sepsis, post-operative emergencies, post-operative care, telemetry on med-surg units.
The group felt that kidney disease and sepsis were the best topics for next year's Med-Surg Medley. Possible sessions include acute and chronic kidney disease, dialysis, treatment of sepsis, and identifying sepsis on the med-surg unit.

Fundraisers: Suggested items to sell were T-shirts, magnets (Nurses Save Lives), and pins. There was a suggestion to sell items at Med-Surg Medley.

Community Service: Suggestions were a food drive at our January meeting, also at Med-Surg Medley, sponsoring an angel from the Angel Tree, and participating in a health fair. Nicole discussed the possibility of holding a health fair at her church. Chapter members expressed interest in participating.

The group chose the following topics and speakers for programs for the coming year.

Mar. 15: Fast Track Program for Bowel Surgery - Cindy Ward
May 17: Palliative Care - Crystal Forlines
July 19: Forensic Nursing - April Rasmussen
Sept. 20: Parish Nursing - Ruth Syre
Nov 15: Dinner meeting, no educational program

Refreshments:
Members volunteered to provide refreshments for next year's meetings. Juanita has plates and cups.

Study Group: Ford 5 is starting a study group for the med-surg certification exam. Anyone interested can attend.

Recertification: Members want more information about recertification. Cindy will review at the January meeting.
