Annual dues to join the Academy of Medical Surgical Nurses are $84 per year. Members are then eligible to belong to a local chapter in their area. Members receive the quarterly newsletter Med-Surg Matters, which provides information on the activities of the Academy and provides clinical updates and tips. Members also receive MEDSURG Nursing, the Journal of Adult Health, the official journal of AMSN. The journal is published bi-monthly, and provides articles about clinical issues in adult health nursing. Continuing education credits are available through the journal’s CE series. Associate membership is open to any licensed health care professional who has in interest in the care of adult/medical-surgical patients. Associate members have all membership privileges except those of voting, holding office, serving as chairpersons of standing committees or serving on committees limited to full members. The associate membership rate is $84/year. Nursing students are eligible for membership in the Academy at a reduced membership rate of $50 per year. National Student Nurses Association members may join AMSN for $45 per year. Student members are not eligible to hold office, vote, or serve as chairperson of committees.
